Google Goggles is a phone application that takes what the camera sees and does a search on it and it just got the ability to read text and translate it, though in only five languages for now.
If you haven’t searched on Google in the past day or so then maybe you should wander over there because they updated the results page to provide better tools for navigating results.

Steve Job wrote a letter explaining the reasons that Apple does not have flash on the iPhone, iPod, and iPad. Seeing that flash has been so prevalent it is really odd to see one of the major computer companies so against it.
I would be very glad if someone can tell me how this “Liquid Space” has been done… The only thing I know is that there is no holograms, but just projections!
In real world, buildings appeared as something static and relatively stationary, where the user has a passive role in front of the architecture. In a virtual world, they can trascend gravity and real rules to become fluid and dynamic as the people walking in them.
There is another point that can be discussed. Which images and precedents should guide the design of virtual cities? Should they relate us to existing realities in the physical world?
We watched some videos where digital technology is mixed with architecture to create amazing effects on façades. This is another example of the fake transformations that a building can experience…
