This is a great video if your someone who doesn’t really know what SOPA and PIPA stand for or are intended to do. I myself, was unsure of the overall effect on the internet that these bills would have. Although they SOPA/PIPA acts were postponed thusfar, it is good to know what they are about, because congress will continue to proposed bills like this as long as money is green and media companies pay out. Clay Shirky is easy to listen to and the video is really interesting, see feel free to watch it. Enjoy~ P.S. If SOPA/PIPA were passed I wouldn’t have the ability to share this video with you!
Until next time,
This project is looking to try things such as dialing the person’s phone number when holding the phone up against the person.
This is similar to social networking sites like facebook. The users are doing similar things. However, this project is rooted in more of physical interactions rather than graphical interactions on the computer. The connectibles are object based interactivity and have different definitions and tasks. I do not see this as a very convenient method as the objects are not as portable as computer graphics and websites do.
This is a project that lets you see beyond your TV screen. The designer uses a phone or a tablet to move around in different directions to see what’s happening off screen using “surround sound” technology.
I think this would be a great idea for solving mysteries or situations happening beyond what security cameras could capture.
I thought it was ridiculous to have internet at Mt. Everest. However, I have realized that it is a very convenient way to have internet even up there as the climbers are constantly able to update on their status. Although the original idea was to promote the LG phone with its 3G internet, I think the internet will do better to the climbers who risk their lives to make it to the top.
This is a Gateway computer chip that performs well enough to get internet running. Its efficiency is almost the same as cell phone. Although it is redundant to have something like this when you have a cell phone, it is a convenient substitute for those who do not have either. For $25 creating a version of mini computer is not a bad idea.
