the art of spin attacked by algorithms

David Skillicorn a mathmatics and computer science researcher at Queens University in Ontario Canada has developed a software program that uses an algorithm which “evaluates word usage within the text of a conversation or speech to determine when a person ‘presents themselves or their content in a way that does not necessarily reflect what they know to be true’,” and has used this program to analyze the speeches of the current political campaign.  This is an interesting use of technology to decipher psychology, but (this could just be my paranoid nature talking) is also a potentially scary development.  What happens if in the future, we were to rely solely on the algorithms judgement of true and false, sincire and insincire, innocent and guilty?  Could make for more trouble than its worth……. also, could this kind of technology be utilized to familiarize robots/androids with human psychology and imbue realistic emotive responses in them ? ———–read about it here.
