Cataloging Information

In Miscellaneous is Everything, Weinberger talks about the ineffectiveness of the Dewey system for classifications.  In 2006 the Library of Congress initiated a change to document recording, the elimination of series authority records, a longtime standard in library classification.  As noted in this online article, (http://libraryjuicepress.com/blog/?p=45), “indexing and key word access are more powerful…”.  In other words, internet use patterns and tools are now affecting the way that the information is classified.
