In Miscellaneous is Everything, Weinberger talks about the ineffectiveness of the Dewey system for classifications.  In 2006 the Library of Congress initiated a change to document recording, the elimination of series authority records, a longtime standard in library classification.  As noted in this online article, (, “indexing and key word access are more powerful…”.  In other words, internet use patterns and tools are now affecting the way that the information is classified.
